Horrorshow IV:

In the thick of it

Alright, troops...the objective is to rendezvous at the Lawrence Art Center, May 29th, May 30th, June 5th, June 6th at 1800 Hrs. There we will receive proper munitions and outfitting. Then...we wait...and wait...and wait. At 2000 Hrs, we maneuver toward the stage. Final Objective: to knock them dead. We will leave every man, woman, child, she-male, and farm animal on the floor, dying (of laughter)

Something everyone should know about

There is a phenomenal group of aerial fabric acrobats, right here, in our neck of the woods! The group is called VOLER, Thieves of Flight. They are based in Kansas City, and have performed nationally, as well as, internationally.
I saw them at last summer's BuskerFest, right in front of the Art Center, in good old Lawrence, KS.
They will be performing on Saturday May 9th at the Czar Bar, beginning at 9PM.
I will try to get a link up and running with further information.

I trust the busy little beavers of EMU are creating great things

Rehearsals for the ten minute fest are in full swing, and (from what I've seen and heard) are going swimmingly. (YES, I like parentheses and commas. SO!)
I don't know what's more nerve-wracking to me; having, roughly, a month to learn lines, blocking, etc., or the realization that my daughter will be out of school for the summer before those things happen. Well, it will be what it will be.

Something fun (if you're into that kind of thing)

Well, I was going to try and be all cool and show off my mad HTML skills, but I can't lie. I have been woefully neglectful in my studies. I'm sure there's an easy way to insert a link, but I'll just give out the information I have, as is.
There is a group in KC doing staged readings of your favorite cult movies and mine. Think of it as "Prairie Home Companion" meets, drive-in theater meets, comic book/sci-fi/gaming convention (I think you know what kind of gaming I'm talking about ;)
Anyway, their latest production of This is Not Spinal Tap starts this weekend:

I'm back...through rain, and sleet, and inaccurate weather forecasts.

I really have no...wait a minute, I take that back...I have several excuses for not posting anything last week. I will spare you the goriest of details, suffice to say, auditions were last week, and finish up tonight. I don't know about you all (should that be "y'all"?) but I am excited to hear/read the cast list. IMHO, things went very well, especially when one considers that no one showed up at the first audition time (except for the directors, let's give them all a hand). Nevertheless, by all accounts relayed to me (and my own personal observation) there were some very strong readings.
